The death has occurred of Jim Ronan Ashleigh Gardens, Skehard Road, Blackrock, Cork
February 25, 2026

Jim Ronan,

Formerly Cooline, Charleville, Co Cork.

Passed away peacefully, on February 25th 2026 surrounded by his loving family,

while in the tender loving care of the nurses and staff of Bishopscourt Nursing Home.

Beloved husband to Helen (nee Ryall), devoted father of Enda and Emma, cherished son of the late Con and Elizabeth Ronan and brother of the late Michael and Kathleen.

Jim will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife, son and daughter, his adored grandchildren; Jasmine, Alfie, Éanna, Fionn, Tadhg and Émilienne, daughter-in-law Aoife, brothers John and Neil, sister Breda, sisters-in-law; Joan, Mary-Ann, Chris and Margaret, brothers-in-law Fr Pat, Tadhg and the recently deceased Jerry Geary, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of treasured friends and neighbours.

The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the exceptional nurses, carers and staff of Bishopscourt Nursing Home, to Dr John Haugh GP and to everyone else who provided care and support to Jim.

Jim will repose in O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Turners Cross, Cork, T12DV27 on Friday evening, February 27th from 5pm to 6pm followed by prayers.

Reception into St Michael’s Church Blackrock, T12AO20 for Requiem Mass at 10am on Saturday morning, February 28th.

Burial immediately afterwards in St Michael’s cemetery, Blackrock.

McCARTHY (Beaumont, Blackrock);On February 21st, 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Beaumont Residential Care, FRANCES (née O’Keeffe) (Life President of Blackrock Camogie Club), loving mother of Stephen, Brendan and Grace (Wrenne), dear sister of the late Bridie, Con, Jack, Claire and Joe, adored nana of Kaitlin, Andrew, Rhianna and Conor, mother-in-law of Gwen, Garrett and the late Sherry.

Sadly missed by her family, sister-in-law Maureen, nieces, especially Gillian and Sinead, nephews, especially David, wonderful neighbours and large circle of friends.

NOTLEY (Blackrock, Cork and formerly of Derby, UK): On February 20th, 2026, unexpectedly, but peacefully passed to the Lord, at home in the presence of his loving family, BARRY (Port of Cork Company and Cork Celtic), beloved husband and best friend of Ann (née O’Connell), devoted father of Cliff, Carol-Ann, Judith (Tanner) and Stephen, adored grandad of Rían, Rory, Jack, Macdaragh and Conor, dear brother of Jackie, Alan, Graham, Deborah and the late Peter,
