St. Michael's Parish 
Celebrating Together – In recent weeks and months, many Funeral Masses have been celebrated in the church. If you visit the Remembrance Tree in the church, you will see many names placed there already since November 2026. Our parish and community always come together to pray for those who have died and accompany the bereaved. This is something that we do well and continue to do so. Families and friends also come together in the church to celebrate baptisms. We expect that in the region of 100 baptisms will be celebrated in the church this year which is a significant increase from preceding years. This reflects the many new homes and families in the wider Blackrock area. This is projected to increase further when many new apartments are occupied soon and into the future. In the coming weeks, we will also begin the parish-based First Holy Communion and Confirmation programmes for the children and their families. In summary, there are many celebrations here in the church along with the scheduled weekend and weekday Masses. May the Lord bless all the families and our parish. St. Michael, pray for us. – Fr. Annual Priests Retreat: Tuesday 6th Oct. – Friday 9th October. – No morning Masses on Tue. 6th & Fri. 9th October in St. Michael’s and no morning Mass in Holy Cross on Wed. 7th Oct.
Christian Meditation Group – A group of people from our Family of Parishes continue to meet on each Friday morning at 10.15am in the Parish Centre. After a short introduction there is 20 minutes of silent prayer/meditation concluding with the Our Father. We welcome you to join us. Contact 087 6477841 for details.

Gougane Sunday 2026 – You are invited to join people from across the Diocese for Gougane Sunday on this Sunday 27th September, when we gather to honour St
Finbarr one of the Patrons of our Diocese. For more than 1,400 years Gougane Barra has been a place of prayer and pilgrimage associated with St Finbarr.
Confessions will be available from 1.30pm, Rosary will be prayed at 2.30pm,
Mass at 3.00pm celebrated by Bishop Fintan Gavin.
