COUNIHAN (Ballinlough and Blackrock, Cork): On April 27th , 2026, peacefully in the tender loving care of all the staff at Marymount Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, DONAL (Former Lord Mayor of Cork and Councillor at Cork City Council and late of UCC, Blackrock Hurling Club and Ballinlough Community Centre), dearly loved husband of Breda, devoted dad to Niamh, Gillian and Kieran, cherished brother of Marie and Sr. Bride.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, children, adored grandchildren, Mark, Luke, Matthew, Grace and Ava, brother-in-law Paddy Goulding, sons-in-law Noel Sutton and Kevin Wilson, daughter-in-law Jackie, niece, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Thursday (April 30th) from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 12.00noon on Friday (May 1st) in St. Michael’s Church, Blackrock which will be live streamed here.

Funeral afterwards to St. Finbarr’s Cemetery.
