First Holy Communions ~ 10th May 2026

Published on May 8, 2026

First Holy Communions – our church is a very busy place during these weekday mornings as the First Holy Communion children from our parish schools practice for the Communion ceremonies.  There is always a lovely atmosphere as the children are guided, prepared and supported by their schools in this.  Not only are the children being prepared for the First Communion ceremony but they are also being prepared for life.  Families and our parish community are very grateful to the schools for the work that they do.  There is something very special about the Communion ceremonies but also the sacred preparation of the children to meet Jesus in the Eucharist.  On Sunday 24th May at 11am Mass, we look forward to gathering with all the First Holy Communion children and their families to celebrate together.  Families have really supported the parish based ‘Do This in Memory’ Masses that have been so well attended since last October and we look forward to another such gathering on 24th May.  May the Lord bless the children, their families, their schools and our parish into the future.  Fr. Michael

The Mission and Ministry Special Collection will take place on the weekend of 9th & 10th May. This office plays a vital role in supporting our priests,

parishes and Families of Parishes as we work together to help people grow in faith

and live as missionary disciples. It provides formation and support for Parish

Pastoral Councils, Baptism and Funeral Ministry Teams, Ministers of the Word and

Eucharist, Choirs and other ministries, as well as offering resources for prayer,

evangelisation and adult sacramental preparation. Thanks to your generosity, this

work continues to grow and reach more people across our diocese. Thank you for

your continued support and encouragement of this important work.

Annual Cemetery Mass on Wednesday 24th June @ 7.30pm in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
