100th Cork Eucharistic Procession ~ 24th May 2026

Published on May 22, 2026

100th Cork Eucharistic Procession – this will be an historic moment for our Diocese and for Cork City.  The first Eucharistic Procession took place to bring people together after the many divisions.  A lot of preparations have been undertaken over the last year to ensure that this milestone is honoured and very much looking to the future than to the past.  Our faith always finds new ways to grow and develop.  In that context, the visit of the relics of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, will be a great blessing to people of all ages.  This weekend we will have a short input after Communion at Masses from one of the young missionaries who will be visiting the Diocese for the visit of the Relics and for the 100th Eucharistic Procession.  As a parish community, we will pray God’s blessing for the Diocese in the coming weeks.  St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us.  St. Michael, pray for us.   Fr. Michael

Annual Cemetery Mass on Wednesday 24th June @ 7.30pm in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Holy Cross Church is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year.  The Redemptorist Fathers will lead a Parish Triduum from 21st – 23rd September and be involved at Masses on weekend 19th/20th September in preparation. This will be a significant time for Mahon and Blackrock Parishes as well as our Family of Parishes.

Congratulations to the children from Scoil Ursula, St. Michael’s NS and the School of the Divine Child who celebrated their First Holy Communion this weekend.  A warm welcome to all the First Holy Communion children and their families to 11am Mass this Sunday.  May the Lord bless the children, their families, their school communities and our parish as we gather to pray and celebrate together.

Corpus Christi Novena Invitation

People throughout the diocese are warmly invited to pray the Corpus Christi Novena during the nine days leading up to the Feast of Corpus Christi. Copies of the prayer to St. Carlo Acutis have already been distributed to parishes. Short daily video reflections, led by different people, will be available online each day at 12 noon beginning Friday, 29th May . Please join us in prayer.
