August – We have reached the August Bank Holiday weekend and continue to be blessed with beautiful weather. While this is a quieter time in the church as many people are on holidays and schools are closed, Masses, baptisms, weddings and funerals continue. The full spectrum of life from the joy of baptisms and weddings to the sadness and reflection of funeral Masses continues. Everyone appreciates good weather for weddings and it certainly contributes to a good atmosphere. However on occasion, there can be a contrast between beautiful sunshine outside the church and the sadness of farewell at a funeral inside the church. May the Lord bless all those celebrating weddings this year, bless the children being baptised, console families who are bereaved and keep us all safe as we enjoy this wonderful summer weather this year. St. Michael, pray for us. Fr. Michael
