Celebrating Together ~ 7th December 2025

Published on December 5, 2025

Celebrating Together – our church and parish centre has been very busy in recent times as we continue through Advent and approach Christmas.  We had a wonderful concert in the church last Sunday evening which was very well attended. We were delighted to facilitate and welcome the Polish Community to the Parish Centre last weekend as they celebrated a milestone for their community.  The Parish Centre was beautifully decorated and a true Polish celebration followed.

We welcomed the Confirmation candidates and their families to the Vigil Mass last Saturday.  The church was full with families and young people for the enrolment ceremony and we are grateful to all those who arranged and supported the gathering.  This weekend, we again welcome the First Holy Communion children and their families to the third Mass as part of their Do This in Memory programme.  This year there will be nine such Masses.

And now for the Christmas period as we prepare in the church and the parish to gather to celebrate the Birth of Jesus.  The local schools will be coming to the church to celebrate their carol concerts and Nativity plays.  These are special days in a great community with a very strong sense of parish.  May the Lord bless us all as we prepare for Christmas and the new year.  Fr. Michael

Praying Together – we continue to become familiar with some of the small changes as to when we stand and kneel during Mass.  Hopefully these will become routine for us soon.

Thank You – for your tremendous generosity to the parish in the weekly offertory collection and scheduled church maintenance collections as well as direct debit and online contributions via the ‘Donate’ button on the parish website.  May the Lord bless you for your loyalty and generosity.

#HaveYourSay about your Catholic School

For Attention of Parents of children attending Primary Schools or have yet to start.

The Department of Education is currently conducting a Primary School Survey that

will determine the future provision of Primary Schools and crucially could lead to

lasting changes in your school.  In simple, direct terms, you are being asked if you

want your school to stay a Catholic school or if you want that to change. Don’t leave

it to others, have your say before 16 December 2025.
