Remembering

The early days of November have been very fulfilling as we have gathered to remember our loved ones who have died.  There has been a great response and participation in the November Novena with so many names now placed on the altar to be remembered in Novena Masses.  Our Remembrance Mass on last Monday evening was truly special.  The gathering of so many people who have been bereaved during the past year, while deeply poignant, was also a consoling gathering of friends.  The attendance was excellent and the Mass itself was very special.

The attendance at the blessing of graves in St. Michael’s Cemetery on last Sunday afternoon was enormous.  People and families from our local parishes as well as from throughout Cork city and beyond gathered.  The weather was dry and reasonably pleasant which helps so much.  People and families stood near to their family graves and patiently waited for the blessing.  May the Lord bless all those who have died and may they now rest in their easy in the Home of the Father.   Fr. Michael
