May They Rest in Peace

During the past week, two extraordinary religious returned to the House of the Father.  Br. Kevin Crowley OFM. Cap and Fr. Oscar O’Leary OFM dedicated their lives to serve those in need and on the margins.  Their deep faith in God and people propelled them to work quietly and effectively fulfilling their vows as religious.  In our fast-moving world, their ministry could be easily overlooked but their authenticity as people of faith shone through and prevailed.  May the Lord grant them both a bed in Heaven for their work and ministry.

First Friday Visits to the Sick and Housebound – Many people have been in touch to let us know of a family member who would welcome a visit to receive the Blessed Sacrament in their homes.  This is so important for people who came to the church all of their lives and now can do so no longer.  If you know of a neighbour or family member who needs a visit just let us know.

Year of Prayer, Listening and Discernment

Bishop Fintan would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who engaged in

the journey of Prayer, Listening and Discernment so far and to those who supported it with their prayer.  He has written an initial response to what has emerged from the

gatherings and invites us to read this Pastoral Letter which is now available at the

back of the church. The Pastoral Letter and the thematic summary of the responses

from our Family of Parishes and the diocese as a whole are available on the

diocesan website www.corkandross.org
