Families
Over one hundred children from five schools enrolled for the Sacraments of First Confession and First Holy Communion last weekend. There was a great attendance at the Vigil Mass for this and we look forward to the other Do This in Memory Masses both before and after Christmas in preparation for the Sacraments. The beauty of this is that over 100 families were also in attendance as well as many grandparents. This brings life to our parish for which we are all grateful.
The enrolment ceremony for the Confirmation candidates has been arranged for Saturday 29th November at 6pm Mass. Again we look forward to all their families attending as well. There will be at least one more Mass for the Confirmation candidates in the new year to ensure that preparation is also a parish initiative along with their families and schools. Annual Remembrance Mass – for all those who have died in our parish over the last year will be celebrated on Monday 3rd November @ 7pm. Letters of Invitation to families are currently available in the church or being delivered.
November Novena for the Dead – Sunday 2nd to Monday 10th November. There will be Mass each weekday @ 9.30am during the Novena. Envelopes and Lists are available in the church.
Blessing of Graves – on Sunday 2nd November @ 3pm in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Saturday 1st November – Feast of All Saints – Mass @ 9.30am
Altar Servers – we have more volunteers and look forward to a growing number of boys and girls willing to join the team with the support and encouragement of their families. People really appreciate the involvement of our new altar servers.
Children’s Adoration – Friday 7th November from 3pm – 3.30pm in St. Michael’s, Blackrock.
Family of Parishes Alpha Programme – continues each Wednesday evening in SMA Blackrock Road at 7.30pm until 20th November. People are welcome any Wednesday evening to participate.
SMA Parish – Sunday Masses continue temporarily @ 10am & 12noon in Crab Lane NS (Portakabin) off Boreenmanna Road.
